Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work on the survey of the country's territory, detection, seizure and disposure of explosive objects from the times of past wars. In the past 24 hours alone, on October 19, 42 on-site visits were made, during which there were identified 111 munitions.
In particular, on October 19, pyrotechnics Khmelnytsky region defused two 76-mm artillery shells of the World War II by detonation in a specially designated area. The first artillery shell was found the day before by the owners of a private household in Zhyshchyntsi village of Horodotsk district during excavation work and another was found by people in Black Forest tract of Yarmolynets district, while picking mushrooms.
In turn, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service in Dnipropetrovsk region were involved in ammunition disposal three times. On October 19 an owner of the grount n the territory of the garden society located in Vilne village of Kryvyi Rih district discovered the outdated F-1 grenade. The day before in Novomoskovsk town, a local resident, while picking mushrooms, came across a suspicious object, which turned out to be a modern 125 mm artillery shell. Also, in the woods, near Gvardiyske village of Novomoskovsk district, a man, while picking mushrooms, found a modern anti-tank mine TM-62m. Pyrotechnics neutralized ammunition by controlled detonation.
October 18, the capital's pyrotechnics three times were involved in seizure and disposal of World War II ammunition. Thus, in the forests of Desnianskyi district of Kyiv on Radystiv street, on Krayniya street and Lisoviy avenue there were foundtwo D-76 mm artillery shells, one D-122 mm artillery shell and one D-150 mm artillery shell. Seized ammunition was disposed by a pyrotechnic group of the Mobile Rescue Center of Quick Response at the range.
In Lviv region during the weekend pyrotechnics of the SES of Ukraine seized and disposed 6 explosive devices, namely: two 76 mm artillery shells were seized in Zadvirya village of Busk district, a 300-mm M-30 rocket projectile was sized in Berezhany village of Pustomytivsk district, 120 mm mortar mine was seized in Kamyanka-Buzka tawn, a 52 mm artillery shells was seized in Pozdymyr village of Radekhiv district, an RPG-40 anti-tank grenade was seized in Gai-Smolenski village of Brody district. All dangerous finds were transported to specially designated places and disposed of in the prescribed manner in compliance with all safety requirements.
In addition, demining work on the liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts is ongoing. Thus, on October 19, units of the SES of Ukraine in the Donetsk region surveyed 2,36ha of territory, detected and seized 34 explosive itimes.
In total, since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 56,359 explosive devices, including 1,161 aircraft bombs.
