In the period from July 1 to July 22, a training course for 12 volunteers from Staroslovyansk united territorial community of Khmelnytsk region is underway within the framework of the initiative "Improvement of Civil Protection in the United Communities of Ukraine", implemented by the Association of Voluntary Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland within the framework of the "U-LEAD with Europe" Program, based on 34 State Fire and Rescue Post of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Khmelnytsky region.
The training began with the theoretical part, during which employees of the SES briefed participants of the program on actions in various emergency situations. Than, the Emergency Service personnel demonstrated to the participants of the training course the special and rescue machinery and equipmentб that are used in the units, giving them detailed information about their capabilities. In addition, each of the volunteers, wearing fire fighting clothing, was able to test their own strength in overcoming the barrier of obstacles, to climb the assault ladder out the window, learn how to work in the respiratory and vision protection apparatus, and, of course, to put out the conditional fire with the firefighting hose. In a word, they learned to do it promptly and professionally, that, of course, will be useful in case of rescuing or during the elimination of fires.
Thanks to the "U-LEAD with Europe" program, the experience, conveyed both by Polish instructors and specialists of the State Emergancy Service during the training course, will allow volunteers from the united territorial communities to receive professional emergency response background and will promote better cooperation with government departments.
