Pyrotechnic units of the SES of Ukraine carry out daily work on surveying the territory of the country, detection, removal and disposal of explosive remnants of wars. So, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnics of the SES of Ukrainian have already removed and destroyed 11 thousand 002 explosive ordnance, including 98 air bombs. Often, obsolete ammunition is found by citizens in open territories near settlements, while visiting forests and parks, as well as on their own household plots during land works.
For example, during the weekend of April 13-14, a group of pyrotechnic works and underwater demining of the Emergency and Rescue Team of the Special Purpose of the Department of the SES of Ukraine in Chernihiv Oblast eliminated in accordance with the established procedure two units of explosive ordnances from the time of the Second World War. On April 13, in an open area near Bahmach town, citizens discovered an object that was similar in appearance to an explosive. Specialists of the SESU have etermined that this is a 76 mm caliber artillery projectile. The next day, April 14, it was reported that in Chernihiv city, namely on Mira Avenue near the apartment building, passersby found an F-1 hand grenade. In both cases, during the examination of the adjacent territory, no other explosive ordnance were found.
On the same weekend, pyrotechnics of Emergency and Rescue Team of the Special Purpose of the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Khmelnitsky Oblast in a  specially designated place eliminated 150 explosive ordnance of the Second World War, namely, 7.62 mm small-arms cartridges. There, on the outskirts of the settlement, metal seekers dug up two suspicious metal objects and immediately reported about them on the number "101". SESU Specialists identified the finds as 76 mm artillery projectiles from the time of past wars. Another report on the detection of suspicious items was recorded directly from the district center, where during the planned sanitary works, the foresters found 11 artillery projectiles.
